Leather Care Guide
Taking care of your leather styles
Everyday occurrences such as ageing, sunlight, humidity and general wear can change your leather products.
Keep your leather items from getting wet. Water will dry out the leather and leave your product with visible water lines that are difficult to remove.
Much like your own skin, leather needs to be moisturized and cared for to prevent it from drying out or cracking. Proper care will help prevent this from happening and protect your leather products for many years forward.

How to Clean and Care for Leather
Even with regular care, your leather items will inevitably gather dirt over time. Proper cleaning and conditioning are essential to prevent permanent damage.
-
Clean: Begin by gently wiping the leather with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, grease, and moisture. Ensure the leather is completely dry before moving on to the next step.
-
Deeper Cleaning: If needed, use a slightly damp cloth to remove any stubborn dirt. Be careful not to use too much water, as leather takes time to dry.
-
Condition: Apply leather balm using circular motions. Let the balm absorb into the leather for a short while before using the item again.
Cleaning the Cotton Lining
To clean the cotton lining, pull it out and wipe it with a damp cloth to remove dirt and spots. If necessary, add a small drop of mild soap. Avoid soaking the fabric. Ensure the lining is fully dry before placing it back inside the leather bag.
How Often Should You Treat Your Leather?
- Daily Use: If you use the bag daily, we recommend cleaning and treating it once a month.
- Occasional Use: For a weekend or special occasion bag, treating it every six months should suffice.
Proper Storage
To help your leather bag maintain its shape, stuff it with newspaper, tissue paper, or a similar material. Make sure the stuffing is firm but does not stretch the seams. Store your bag in a breathable cotton dust bag.
Avoid storing your leather item in plastic bags or boxes, as these can trap moisture and damage the leather. Never store a wet leather bag; let it dry completely before putting it away. If your bag has metal parts like buckles or chains, wrap them in tissue paper to prevent them from marking the leather.
Avoiding Heat and Water Damage
Moisture can quickly damage your leather bag, causing it to swell and lose its shape. Try to avoid using your leather bag on rainy or snowy days. If it does get wet, blot it dry with a towel and allow it to air dry naturally. Avoid using a hairdryer or clothes dryer.
Treating Scratches
Scratches are a natural part of daily use. To minimize their appearance, gently rub the scratch with a small amount of leather balm on a clean, dry cloth. Let it dry naturally, away from direct sunlight.
Handling Marks and Stains
To remove marks or stains, first wipe down your leather item with a clean, dry cloth. Then apply leather balm in circular motions, making sure to treat all surfaces evenly.

Sunlight Exposure
Keep in mind that exposure to sunlight can darken your leather items. Prolonged sun exposure can also dry out the leather, weakening it over time.
