Hope Bubble Leather Bum Bag
Hope Leather Bum Bag - or crossbody bag, is one of Hymness’s signature designs. Hope is a smaller version of Hymness ‘firstborn’ design JADA, for you who love the design but prefers a smaller bag, and therefore also has the unique tubular straps. Adjust the strap to fit your body by tying or untying knots. The guide will be included when you buy a bag. The bag has 3 zipped compartments - the main zip compartment, an inside zipped pocket, and a zip pocket on the back.
This edition of Hope is made in vegetable-tanned bubble sheep leather, which is the characteristic big bubble structure, created from the process of tumbling/drumming. This creates a natural and variated structure - compared to printed/embossed structures. This type of leather has been used for making exclusive bags for years because of its luxurious expression. Alexander wang especially is known for his bubble leather bags.
Hope Leather Bum Bag is made of genuine leather, and the straps will naturally stretch a little when put into use. Vegetable-tanned leather has a fantastic characteristic that keeps evolving and develops a unique patina, that just gets better when properly cared for. All sheep leathers are locally sourced to the workshop and tannery.
Note that on real vegetable-tanned leather, marks and scratches will occur when start using it. It is natural for genuine leather. Care for your bag with leather balm before start using it and if you notice marks on the leather, then spot-treat it.

As this bag is made of top-grain vegetable-tanned leather, each bag varies slightly in texture and colour tone/depth, and you may spot variations in the material, which only shows that the leather is natural and genuine - A high-quality leather, that has not been split or top-treated.
Note that on genuine leather, including vegetable-tanned leather, scratches, and marks can occur when you start using it. Do not distress as this is a natural leather thing. Care for your bag with leather balm often. And if you notice marks on the leather - spot, treat it.
Everyday occurrences such as aging, sunlight, humidity and general wear can change your leather products.
Keep your leather items from getting wet. Water will dry-out the leather and leave your product with visible water-lines that are difficult to remove.
Much like your own skin, leather needs to be moisturized and cared for to prevent it drying out or cracking. Proper care will help prevent this happening and protect your leather products for many years forward.
Care To Keep
Even with proper care, your leather items will get dirty with regular use. Cleaning and conditioning your bag can prevent permanent damage.
1. Clean: Do a quick cleaning to absorb dust, grease and unwanted moisture, by using a dry soft cloth.
2. If needed use a soft slightly damp cloth to remove dirt that are not easily removed. (Do not use too much water – leather takes time to dry). Make sure the leather is 100% dry before applying leather balm.
3. Apply leather balm in circular movements. Leave it for a short while, to absorb the leather before using.
Hymness partner and independent workshop AHO, an entrepreneurial workshop focused on sustainability, social work, and craftsmanship, made this bag.
As something unique, the bags are made in modular systems (project based) and not on a production line. Together we create unique and limited editions while building a core range that keeps improving every time we craft a new batch.
